Good morning and happy Saturday š±
I have some great news, I got my YouTube channel back, so for those of you who preferred watching the podcast on there, you now can āŗļø Along with the extra cooking and fitness videos I was posting on there with Ivy.
Ivy and I had a fantastic time teaching on our live masterclass this week that took place on Tuesday. We went in depth on setting a solid mental foundation along with the actual steps and strategies to lose your next 10 lbs if you are over the age of 50. Because, as you know, the body doesnāt respond the same way as when you were in your 20s.
As per usual, there is no replay, so you must attend live to get the information.
Iām excited to announce that our next live teaching session will be on Saturday, October 24th at 9 am PST/12 pm EST and it will be on āHow to Structure a Full Day of Whole Food Plant-Based Eating for the purpose of Body Recompositionā.
Ivy and I will be bringing you into our kitchen, showing you live how we would build our meals and our days based on specific calories and protein ratios in order to improve our body composition. We will share a few of our favorite simple high protein recipes that we personally use and recipes that Iāve used for my last body recomposition transformation.
This is one that you wonāt want to miss, and again, itās only available live. You can reserve your seat here: https://mavywellness.com/live .
I look forward to seeing you there live š± šŖ
Now letās get into this weeks teaching:
This week I had a group call with members inside our Forever Fit course. A member brought up how she was traveling and at an event, and the food was out of her control. That caused her to go off track.
I paused her and said, Iād like to offer a reframing on that. We donāt want to give our power away. Because in saying the food was out of our control and thatās why we went off track, thatās giving the power away.
And I want to be clear, Iām sharing this example because so many people go down this path, especially when theyāre newer to making different types of decisions when it comes to eating healthier, exercising, and trying to improve their body composition.
Thereās nothing wrong with her, and she did nothing bad. It was a learning opportunity. It was an opportunity for her to reframe, and I want to use that opportunity, that blessing that she had, and share it with you.
The reality is, yes, the food that is available at an event or at the wedding, is sometimes out of our control. But what is in our control is what we put on our plate and what we put in our mouth.
We want to be careful with our wording and how we frame things, because in reality we are the ones responsible for the results we currently have in our life.
Yes, there was unhealthy food available at the wedding or at the event. But could you have made potentially healthier choices? And if there werenāt healthier choices, did you have to eat a full plate of the thing that was unhealthy? Or could you have had a little bit just to hold you off until after the event, where you can actually get some healthier food into your body?
So the teaching here is: realize that you are in control of how you deal with the environment that is around you. We cannot blame the environment for our lack of results.
Iām not saying that itās easy. 100%, itās hard, because we live in a society where fitness isnāt the norm, eating healthy isnāt the norm, specifically eating whole food plant based isnāt the norm. But it is your responsibility, and it is in your power to make the best choices possible.
That is why it helps to have accountability and people on your site to support you on your journey. And I hope that this newsletter, the podcast, and the Life teaching sessions that I do through our masterclasses and our one-on-one coaching program can be of service for you in that way.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend, and hopefully I get to see you on the upcoming live masterclass.
Sincerely,
Maxime
