What an incredible week this has been.
I have a few updates for you before we get into this weeks lesson.
I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who congratulated me on my new book “Forever Fit” and who pre-ordered a copy. I am receiving all the printed copies on January 24th and will be taking to them to sign all of them with a personal note before shipping them out on the last week of January ❤️
The book will officially go live on Amazon on January 26th.
As some of you may know Ivy and I are getting ready for a 3 month trip in Asia starting January 31st which I’m very excited about. I finally received my green card (I’m Canadian) so now I can finally travel outside the USA and I look forward to meeting Ivy’s family and see where she grew up in the Philippines.
Ivy and I are planning some great cooking videos and collaborations while we are out there traveling across Asia so make sure you are subscribed to our youtube channel to see those videos when they go live.
This weeks lesson I think will resonate with many people since we are mid way through January and the 2026 new years resolution are already starting to fade a little bit for some people.
I’m here to honestly tell you that I DID NOT WANT TO DO ANY OF MY WORKOUTS THIS WEEK.
None of them, I felt tired and overwhelmed. And honestly I didn’t feel motivated at all to do my workouts.
Since I’m getting ready to sign and ship almost 300 books, prepare my team for the fact that Ivy and I will be traveling to Asia and working on a 16 hours time difference + preparing our new apparel/gear for Mavy Wellness, finalizing the re-branding, working on building our own Mavy Wellness software and a few more projects.
It’s a lot ahah
And honestly a lot of my energy and motivation when to completing this temporary busy stage of our evolution. But guess what?
I still went and did 4 of my 5 workouts and by the time you are reading this I will be doing my 5th workout on Saturday.
This is something I learned a long time ago and that I had to unlearn.
For some reason I use to believe that I had to be “ready” to workout.
That I had to feel “good, on top of the world” to workout.
That I had to feel “not busy” so that I could get my workouts in.
That was very limiting to me, because I know that when I do my workouts I always end up feeling better after and I know that it helps me operate and be my best self.
I also know that if I miss several days in a row that I will start to feel weak, lethargic and that it will be even more challenging for me to do a workout.
Yes…ME…. who’s been working out for over 20 years, who’s Mr.Fitness.
I also have days and weeks like that.
But I had to shift that internal belief system I had from earlier to something new that would actually be more conducive to my reaching my goals and achieving success in the areas I cared most in.
I accepted that I am allowed to feel terrible and still do a workout.
I accepted that I am allowed to feel stressed and overwhelmed and still do my workouts.
I accepted that I can feel anxious and exhausted and still eat healthy food.
I don’t have to wait to feel good to do good things for myself. Because If I didn’t feel good then I’d do like most people do and like I did in the past which would be to do things that aren’t the best for me that would only leave me feeling worst.
So just in case you didn’t know, you are allowed to be tired and still do a workout (even if it’s at 50% intensity because consistency compounds).
You are allowed to eat healthy food even when you don’t feel like it ;)
You get to create your own internal rules by which you operate your day to day by.
Remember that, most operate of the defaults that were passed over from their environment but understand that you do have the ability to change them.
So that is what I did, I did the best I could for my workouts this week.
Some were at 50% intensity and others at 70% intensity and that is ok!
You know why? Because consistency compounds.
Not all workouts are created equal, some of them are to make you fitter, build muscle and lose fat. While some are simply there to help reinforce your new identity that you are trying to build through the act of showing up. It might not be the best workout you’ve ever done but to me that workout matters the most because it’s the one that teaches you to show up even when you don’t want too.
And learning to show up even when you don’t want too if the foundation to living an incredible life, living to your fullest potential. It applies to relationships, marriage, health, fitness, career, finances, etc…
That’s why I like fitness because it’s a control environment where you get to build that character muscle.
I hope what I said makes sense to at least one of you reading this because I know I can’t be the only one “dealing with life” and all it’s beautiful complexity.
I want every single one of you to be the fittest you want to be and let me define what being fit means to me:
"It means having a fit body and health that isn’t a limitation to you living your best life”
And that will change as you age, enter different chapters of life or go through different phases of your life. But ultimately your body is a vessel for you to enjoy life with the people you love.
And I don’t know for you but I want to live as long as I can with the highest quality of life so that I can enjoy the time I have with the people I love ❤️
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic weekend
