WOW, what an incredible week.
My new book Forever Fit just went live this past Monday, and thanks to all your support, we’ve been able to become an Amazon #1 Best Seller in a few categories, and we’re #1 in new releases in the Sports Training category.
At the time of me writing this newsletter, we are ranked #1,483 amongst 33 million+ books on Amazon.com.
I can’t tell you how much this means to me. On April 1st, 2020, when I decided to start this whole journey and company from my second-bedroom apartment in Coquitlam, BC, Canada, while my late partner was in the other room resting and focusing on healing from cancer, I honestly never thought that this decision would turn into all of this.
At first, I’ll be honest, I just needed to make money to pay for the mountain of cancer treatments and all the debt that had been brought on after years of dealing with cancer.
When she passed, that is when I created our now-famous mission of looking to serve 10,000 people to get lean, thrive, and reduce their risk of dealing with chronic illness by 2033, and 1 million by 2050.
And because of that chapter of my life (from 22 years old all the way to 27 years old), we are now standing here having served nearly 1,200 people through our 1:1 coaching program alone.
And when counting the cancer donations that we do every single month to help patients with medical bills + living bills, + the books sold, + the other companies I helped build in this space several years ago, our impact is just over 2,300 people toward our first goal of serving 10,000 people by 2033 ❤️
And all of that would not be possible without your support, your trust in our program, your referrals, and now your support with the book launch.
And it would also not be possible without our incredible team at Mavy Wellness, who work their butts off to serve our members, and to all those who work behind the scenes to help me spread my message ❤️
I’m excited for what the future has in store and to reach our first milestone of having impacted 10,000 people. We are almost 25%!!!
Alright, now it’s time to get into the message of the week, and I want to tie it to what I shared previously and talk about goal setting, because I think most people do it wrong and go too small ;)
When it comes to body recomposition and fat loss, people always play it safe. We will have people come to us and say that they just need to lose 15 lbs, and every time we dig deeper, we figure out that this is their “safe number.” The number that they think they can hit so that they can feel a sense of accomplishment and that it’s doable.
But when we ask them, what does you living your best life actually look like? How do you move throughout the world? How fit are you? What does your body have to look like and be able to do for you to live a life of no limitation so that you can do the fun things you want to do versus settle for “okay”?
That’s when they tell us that if they lost 45 lbs, it would really be life-changing.
“That’s fantastic,” is what I always tell them. If you are going to work towards something, make it life-changing. If you are going to put effort into something, make it worth your while. Make it so it completely transforms you and actually allows you to live your life to the fullest.
We don’t do okay transformations. I want life-changing transformations for our members.
What happens when you set a measly goal of losing 15 lbs when the true life-changing goal is 45 lbs is that you aren’t truly committed to the outcome because you know that once you put in all that effort, 15 lbs is only 33.3% of the way. It’s not even going to get you to a place where you are excited.
Also, that smaller goal will force you to take small actions and won’t create much of a rush for you.
But if we take the life-changing goal of losing 45 lbs in this example, that would generate more excitement inside of you because it’s actually the thing you want.
Plus, it will force you to take a much higher level of action because that requires a different level of commitment to yourself. It forces you to take more grandiose actions to get there. It forces you to actually change your lifestyle because it is a big amount of weight to lose, versus just losing 15 lbs, which might require you to clean up your nutrition for a bit but not really change the underlying lifestyle choices that have caused you to be in a position you don’t want to be in.
I hope I’m making sense. Setting real goals that you actually care about, being bold and making them big, FORCES you to think differently in order to reach them.
As an example, the only reason I wrote a book is because my goal of impacting 1 million people by 2050 is so big that I understand I have to use other methodologies to reach people other than our 1:1 coaching program. I needed something that was more accessible and affordable for the majority of the world, and that could be passed on to friends and family.
I have many other things I’m working on behind the scenes to spread our impact that I would not have otherwise started working on if my goal was just to “make money.” That isn’t the main focus of what I do. Of course, I need money to have the world-class team we have coaching our clients. Of course, I need money to donate to cancer patients and do all these big projects. But the center of the focus is always: how can we serve more people with our fitness and whole-food, plant-based message so we can help the greatest number of people in the world reduce their risk of dealing with cancer and other chronic illnesses.
So I challenge you to challenge your goals. Are they bold enough? Do they excite you? Do they intrinsically make you wake up with motivation? If not, rethink them. What would?
Could it be that you’ve always wanted to be able to run in your bathing suit on the beach while on vacation, not be out of breath, and feel completely confident in that moment? (Real story from one of our members, that was her goal, and she accomplished just that.)
Could it be running a half marathon, triathlon, hiking Kilimanjaro, whatever it may be, but right now you are hiding behind the measly goal of “I need to lose 20 lbs.”
Yes, you probably do, but how about we work towards both goals to get you excited?
If you listen to any of my podcasts and have read my book (feels really cool to say that now), then you know that Phase 5 is our athletic phase, where we invite members to complete their transformation with a goal that they once thought was impossible, and we get them ready for it.
Rethink your goals. Make sure they excite you, and make sure they force you to take a different level of action so that you can start to build the body and health you’ve always truly wanted ❤️
I hope this resonated with some of you because what I figured out is, if it did for me, it probably will for someone else ;)
Alright, Ivy and I are off to Asia tonight. Our flight leaves for the Philippines, and we are landing Monday morning (16 hours of flight, which will be interesting, haha), which will be the start of my monthly 7-day digital detox.
For those of you who are new here, I do a 7-day digital detox for the first 7 days of every month, no social media, no TV, no nothing, and I’ve been doing that for 4 years now.
Our incredible Mavy Wellness team will be online serving our members and taking the introductory consultation calls for those of you interested in working with us. I’ll be upfront that I don’t take those calls anymore and haven’t for a long time. People always tell me that they will wait for me to be back online to book a call with our team in the hopes of talking to me on the call, but you will get the same person on the call. It will either be my wife Ivy, who co-owns Mavy Wellness with me, or our incredible goal-setting coach Vivian. Either way, you will be in good hands, and don’t wait to start your journey with us.
For those of you who are interested, you can simply book your free consultation call at www.mavywellness.com, and our team looks forward to serving you, and I look forward to seeing you on the group calls that I lead for members.
I hope you have an incredible weekend, and I look forward to serving you in 2026 either through our coaching program, my book, podcast, YouTube, or newsletter 🙂
Sincerely,
Maxime Sigouin
